09/06/04 — Swimming, WSIB Style

It's almost fitting that after many failed attempts to try and go swimming this summer, I'd find myself in a
pool
located within an abandoned worker's compensation rehabilitation complex. Of course, there wasn't a drop of water in it, which is probably for the best since I wouldn't have been able to get this shot.

So yeah.. this afternoon Kendall and I paid a visit to Toronto's WSIB (Workplace Safety and Insurance Board) facility. Not much to say about it really. Demo crews have been busy hollowing the place out so photo ops were pretty scarce.

It was mostly just empty bedrooms and offices so unfortunately the pool, with its nice little 1950s mosaic motif, had to be the highlight of the visit. Special thanks to Kendall for figuring out how to get the lights on in that area by hitting the right switches in the powerbox.
