![]() I found out recently that the South campus of Humber College actually used to be an insane asylum. Most of the original late 19th century buildings still exist and fortunately there're still two that haven't yet been rennovated for lousy students to use. I managed to get into one of these and kind of found it to be unbearably creepy. Usually I'm pretty good when it comes to venturing into old places by myself, but when you have a dozen or more pigeons flying around your head in close-quarters it gets to be a bit unnerving. So of course few of my pictures actually turned out because I was too busy being a chicken (err.. pigeon) shit. This photo though, was taken on the ground level where (thankfully) there were no birds around to disturb me. Lousy rats with wings. I swear, next time I go back, I'm going in armed with a tennis racket. As an aside, apparently these buildings were built using the labour of mental patients who, not surprisingly, didn't get paid a cent. |
