I decided to take another stab at shooting the control room by placing a high-powered flashlight (spotlight, really) on the ground and doing a two minute long exposure. I don't like the inconsistency of the shadows but I do like how the tangle of wires came out which help give the place a bit of a sinister look. Just for comparison, here's photographer Peter Macallum's super wide angle photo of what the room looked like back when the station was still in operation-- and more evenly lit.
