01/10/06 — The Money Shot

Lakeview Turbine Hall

This is the sort of picture that Kendall and I usually refer to as the "money shot". The money shot is any photo that provides some sort of interior or exterior overview (and little else) of a place visited. You always feel slightly dirty taking it because you're usually only doing it for someone else's benefit, but you do it anyways because it's something that has to be done every now and again whether you like it or not. Like taking pictures of kids or sunsets. Not that I ever do either of these things. Well, rarely anyway.

So yeah.. this is money shot of Lakeview's main hall area taken from the 116 tonne overhead maintenance crane using the new Hasselblad camera I got for xmas. I'm happy with the results so far and am really looking forward to getting back the three rolls of Provia that I shot on Sunday while using a big ol' lens hood to help cut down on the flare.

It's also going to be squares, squares, and more squares around here for the next few weeks so if it's rectangles you want, I'd suggest you look elsewhere.
