Old wooden beams are still found in some parts of the Last Call system. In this case, they would have been dropped into the slots along the wall from above, at street level, in order to divert the flow. This could have provided a way to make repairs to parts of the system easier. Either that or the public works people just set a few beams down in order to prevent the flow from going somewhere they didn't want it to go during dry weather periods. |
