Great find! She earns more than me....
It's hard to believe that this kind of stuff just ends up being abandoned. Makes you wonder what kind of artifacts there will be in the future, now we're relatively 'paperless'.

I wonder why Marie never never got to collect her pay cheque?
Just looked up in the Almanac book: $16.50 in 1955 would have the same purchasing power as 119 today. So poor old Marie's takehome pay in todays terms would only be $268.29. Just about min. wage!
Not much has changed in half a century. Only the numbers.

amazing find. but rather than b+w, personally i would've kept in in colour because that would have given this image the essence of documenting instead of melancholy. regardless, i still like it because of the latter; it just makes your wind wonder of the story behind it.
